Hi! I’m Lauren and I’m incredibly excited to run Tots Play classes in the Lancaster area!

Firstly, a little bit about me; I was born and bred in the Lancaster area and am lucky enough to still live here now with my partner Dan and our beautiful daughter. We absolutely love where we live; the beautiful views over Morecambe Bay, the history of Lancaster and just a stone’s throw away from the snow topped hills in the Lake District.

I'm a qualified primary school teacher and prior to joining the Tots Play family, I worked in Early Years education for many years. I enjoy working with children of all ages but early child development is something that I am really passionate about; it’s those first building blocks that provide your child with the best possible start to their learning journey. Before becoming a teacher, I worked with children in many different capacities; working in children’s nurseries, volunteering in local schools, running Rainbow groups and hosting children’s parties at my local bowling alley – I even used to dress up as an enormous bowling pin!

 I first discovered my love of baby classes during maternity leave with my little girl. I really enjoyed taking her to local groups; it was amazing seeing her develop week on week. She was becoming more sociable, more confident, more inquisitive, more mobile. Having a reason to go out each week and the opportunity to speak to other parents about our experiences was also hugely beneficial for me as a new Mum.

 I quickly got the class bug and really wanted to do more with her. I started to research what else was out there, then I came across Tots Play. I thought it looked fantastic. Baby massage, yoga, signing, sensory, and more, all in one class. I was disappointed to find that there weren’t any Tots Play classes in my local area and that’s when I had my lightbulb moment - I could do that!

The classes really appealed to me as a parent, and that cemented it for me that Tots Play was the programme I wanted to bring to our area.

 So here I am, and I can’t wait to meet you and your little one at one of my classes! Please rest assured that I know all too well what it’s like as a new Mummy and want to promise you the warmest of welcomes at Tots Play as well as a fun, safe, stimulating environment for you to bond with your little one. Not only that, I will provide you with lots of exciting ideas for you to continue playing at home and help you to develop a support network of new friends all embarking on the same journey as you are.
