Making an Ocean Sensory Bottle
Sensory bottles are very popular at our classes, with lots of parents asking how to make them.
They are very quick and easy to make, but the effect is amazing and little ones really enjoy exploring them.
There are lots of different ways to vary these but we love this Ocean inspired bottle made by one of our Franchisees.
All you need is a small plastic bottle with a lid, water, drop of food colouring and vegetable oil.
Half fill the bottle with water and add the food colouring, blue has been used here to make it like an ocean, but you could use other colours too.
Next top up the the bottle with the oil, leaving just a small gap at the top. Screw on the top tightly and either tape it up with electrical tape or glue it securely in place.
Once it is ready show your little one how to tip the bottle slowly from side to side, roll it along the ground, or explore in their own way to watch the bubbles of oil move slowly around the bottle, as the water and oil don't mix.
Great fun for a few seconds of making time and a lovely and simple way to stimulate your child's sense of sight, and even introduce a bit of science if they are is a bit older!
Older children love to get involved in making these for tiny ones too!
Why not have a go yourself and pop your pictures in the comments or on our Facebook page, we would love to see them!
Happy playing!
